Welcome! My name is Nina Livii and I am the Owner &  Licensed Esthetician of Nina Livii Skin Care.  My facial studio is located in a private setting in Northport, NY.  I offer in-studio facial treatments as well as virtual skin assessments.  My approach to your skin care is root-cause focused, holistic and integrative. This means that I believe in looking at you as a whole, and merging some of the advancements of modern technology & clinical style skin care with a strong foundation of result-oriented holistic skin therapies.

 

Despite what we may have been led to believe, we do not have to damage the skin or do very invasive treatments to see results, nor do we have to compromise effectiveness to support long term skin health and healthy aging.  I believe that the outer skin barrier along with the health of the deeper skin layers and wellness of the body should be addressed simultaneously.  Without addressing potential root causes of your skin concerns and ailments, topical skin care provides limited and short-term results.  Skin care and skin health should be supportive of each other. 

 

Underneath your skin, there is an intricate combination of muscles, connective tissues, bones, arteries, nerves, glands and meridians that must work harmoniously together.  Since everything connects;  what we do to our skin affects our body, and what we do to our body affects our skin.  Touch & movement are vital for healthy skin - facial massage that addresses the fascia and deeper layers of the skin and lymphatic system connect internal processes with external practices such as topical skincare & other facial treatments, for a glowing complexion.    Modern lifestyle, lack of a nourishing diet, environmental and emotional stress can create stagnation which wrecks havoc on our bodies, sooner or later manifesting in the skin as inflammation and premature signs of aging.  Our skin is our first line of defense from the environment, which makes it highly prone to inflammation and dysfunction on a cellular level.  We tend to hold copious amounts of tension in the soft tissues of the face, which can alter the whole structure of the face, causing the skin to look more 'aged', puffy, inflamed and imbalanced if not addressed properly.   It is my goal to help you correct these imbalances on an internal & external level without the use of anything toxic or harsh; and to help provide you with tools you need to support skin health longevity - the key to real long lasting results and healthy aging.

 

Ultimately, every human is different & I strongly believe that treatment should be highly individualized.  Therefore, I am constantly studying, researching and learning various wellness & skin care modalities that connect, to create treatments that take the approach of bio-individuality, addressing the whole picture.   I graduated the Esthetics program in 2013 at Wilson Tech and received my New York State Esthetician License and I am an insured member of ASCP (Associated Skin Care Professionals). My education did not stop after Esthetics school.  I have received additional advanced training and certification in some of the following modalities:  facial sculpting using myofascial and superficial fascia release techniques including intra-oral/buccal massage (trained and certified by Bethany Kristiansen at Skin Obsessed) , Nefeli Facial Gua Sha (trained and certified by Dr. Ping Zhang at Nefeli Co.),  Linder Health Peel Certification, and ProCell Micro-Channeling Certification.   I am also currently enrolled in the extensive MBK Acne Specialist Class, and I continue to take many mini classes on different skin concerns and treatment modalities, constantly expanding my education as I go.
